The Zigzag Street La Boite Encores

26 May 2025

Richard is 28 and single. More single than he'd like to be, and not coping well. Since he and Anna split up six months ago he's been trying to find his way again. Longing to be desirable and searching for calm. But things are only getting more out of control.

This early 21st-century rom-com follows a man’s clumsy attempts to rebuild his life after losing his girlfriend resonated deeply with audiences and marked a significant creative milestone in the history of the theatre.

Zigzag Street celebrates its 21st birthday in 2025 as the first play ever performed at the new Roundhouse Theatre in Kelvin Grove in 2004.

In The La Boite Encore Play Reading Series, actors take the stage with scripts in hand, bringing landmark plays to life through dynamic, varied, polished performances.

While not full productions, these readings are set to be a lively celebration of theatre in its rawest form and a tribute to the plays that have shaped La Boite through the years.
