Io Capitano follows the perilous journey of two teenage boys from Senegal who dream of a better life in Europe and set out across the desert and sea.
Their odyssey confronts them with the brutal realities of migration, including exploitation, violence, and survival against the odds.
The film is a gripping and humanising portrayal of resilience, hope, and the cost of chasing freedom.
About the Film:
IO CAPITANO (ME CAPTAIN) tells the adventurous journey of two young men, Seydou and Moussa, who leave Dakar to reach Europe. A contemporary Odyssey through the pitfalls of the desert, the horrors of detention centres in Libya and the dangers of the sea.
